Entomology Summer Position - Field Technician
The entomology program at the Tidewater Agricultural Research and Extension Center in Suffolk, VA is looking for a Field Technician (Wage Position: Emergency Hire) to assist with field crop insect research for the summer of 2024. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about entomology by working alongside faculty, staff, and graduate students. Hours will be up to (but not more than) 40 hours per week, with a typical work schedule of Monday through Friday (8 am to 4:30 pm).
Typical duties may include:
- sampling field plots for insects such as thrips, plant bugs, stink bugs, corn earworm, and rootworm
- collecting insect data
- maintaining research plots
