Soil Testing and Lab Diagnostic Services
Routine soil tests are mailed to the lab in Blacksburg. If you need soil sample boxes, those are available locally at the following locations:
- Tidewater AREC, 6321 Holland Road, Suffolk, VA 23437
- Virginia Cooperative Extension Suffolk Office, 440 Market Street, Suffolk, Virginia 23434
Nematode samples should be submitted by mail or in-person to the Tidewater AREC at the address listed on the sample submission form (linked above).

The Plant Disease Clinic is a service lab that provides diagnosis and plant pathogen testing for commercial growers, service professionals, and home growers.
Samples may be submitted to the lab in Blacksburg or locally through your Extension office or at the Tidewater AREC.
