Summer Employment
We have summer employment opportunities for high school and college students:
- All positions require submission of the Virginia Tech P12W wage form linked below.
- If applicant is a minor (under 18 years of age), please note that permission from a parent/guardian will be required for employment.
- Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a background and driving check (for those applicants over the age of 18).

Pay ranges from $15-$18/hour depending on experience.
Typical duties may include:
- maintaining field plots
- cleaning equipment and lab spaces
- collecting data in field and lab situations
- entering data in Excel or other database programs/apps
- assisting in other tasks as needed
Typical work schedule:
- M-F from 7:30AM - 4:00PM with a 30 minute lunch hours
- hours/schedule ultimately up to the supervisor and may change depending on weather and if travel is necessary
