Mohammad Monirul Hasan Tipu

Mohammad was born and raised in Bangladesh. After working for about 9 years at a national research institute, he decided it was time to return to school and begin his graduate career at Virginia Tech. Mohammad joined Sherif’s Lab to study the flower bud development of deciduous fruit trees, aiming to promote sustainable annual bearing of apple varieties. His research will focus on the genetic, epigenetic, and chemical interplay affecting return bloom, with the goal of developing efficient strategies to manage crop load for the benefit of apple growers and the industry. Apart from his academic pursuits, Mohammad is an avid fan of murder mystery movies.
