B.S., Biology with a concentration in Marine Biology, 2020, Old Dominion University
Before her role at VSAREC, Tiffany served as the education coordinator for the Outdoor School program at Straub Outdoors, a non-profit in central Oregon, where she helped foster environmental stewardship among students statewide.
Before that, she worked as a research assistant for Mark Butler at Florida International University, focusing on Florida Bay sponge surveys and National Science Foundation coral restoration projects. Seeing the coral she had helped outplant in 2019 grow and thrive into 2021 was a rewarding experience, and her favorite moment at this job was discovering sleeping sea turtles during a nightly crab survey dive.
Tiffany and her partner also spent three years traveling in a camper, covering 35 states, before deciding to return to Virginia to reconnect with family and friends. Her hobbies include scuba diving, hiking, and enjoying warm days at the beach.
