Domena A. Agyeman

Domena Agyeman is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Virginia Seafood Agricultural Research and Extension Center (VSAREC). He received a BS in Agricultural Science from University of Cape Coast in Ghana and a MS in Agricultural Economics from Mississippi State University. He earned a PhD in Agricultural Economics from University of Kentucky. Domena’s research interests include: application of computable general equilibrium (CGE) modeling in natural resource and environmental policy impact analysis; application of input-output modeling in economic impact and contribution analyses; and producer risk management decision analysis. He is excited to leverage his expertise to shed light on the economic contributions and impacts of the aquaculture industry.

Domena employs computable general equilibrium (CGE) modeling and input-output modeling (IMPLAN) techniques to conduct research aimed to understand natural resource policy impacts and economic contributions associated with forest products industries. Currently, he is researching the impacts and effectiveness of North Central Regional Aquaculture Center (NCRAC) funded projects in aquaculture within the North Central Region. Generally, his research focuses in the following areas:

  • Natural resource and environmental policy impact assessments
  • Economic contributions and impacts of forest products industries
  • Producer risk management decision making
  • Applied microeconometrics
