Governor Youngkin appoints Virginia Tech researcher Jonathan van Senten to Marine Products Board

Virginia Tech researcher Jonathan van Senten brings his experience as a seafood economist to the Virginia Marine Products Board.

Jonathan van Senten, assistant director of the Virginia Seafood Agricultural Research and Extension Center of Virginia Tech, was among individuals named for key administration appointments in an announcement by Governor Glenn Youngkin last week. Appointed to the Virginia Marine Products Board, van Senten brings experience as an assistant professor in the Virginia Tech Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics and a seafood industry economist dedicated to addressing the evolving needs of the seafood industry.

The Virginia Marine Products Board is the marketing arm of the seafood industry. In this capacity, the board conducts a comprehensive marketing program designed to upgrade and expand both domestic and foreign sales and markets to further the overall economic development of the industry. As a part of the eleven-member board, van Senten will aid in strengthening the industry's economic development.
